First Day of Spring

Happy first day of spring!

As you plan your garden, remember that smart watering helps conserve resources while keeping your plants healthy!

Here are a few water-wise gardening tips to help you grow efficiently this season:

✅ Use drip irrigation for trees, shrubs, and flowers—it delivers water directly to the roots with minimal waste.
✅ Water wisely—deep, infrequent watering is best, but avoid overwatering!
✅ Keep up with weeding—weeds steal valuable nutrients, sunlight, and water from your plants.

A little planning goes a long way in creating a beautiful, sustainable garden! 🌱💦

Rates Value

Your water rates cover more than just what comes from your faucet. Our team works hard to maintain infrastructure, regularly test your water quality, prevent leaks, support conservation efforts, and secure a reliable supply.

“Water rates aren’t just a bill,” said Board Director John Covington. “They’re an investment in clean, safe, and sustainable water for everyone throughout the Beaumont-Cherry Valley area.”

National Groundwater Awareness Week is March 9-15, 2025!

Did you know that 44% of the national population relies on groundwater as their primary water source? At Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District (BCVWD), we recognize the importance of all water resources—including groundwater—to ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply for our community.

“Groundwater plays a crucial role in our region’s water supply” stated Board Vice President Lona Williams. “Protecting and managing this resource responsibly ensures a sustainable future for our residents, businesses, and environment. Small changes in how we use water today can help preserve it for generations to come.”

This week is a great reminder to test, tend, and treat private water wells to ensure clean, safe drinking water as well as to support policies that protect groundwater and promote water conservation.

💡 Water-Smart Facts:

  • 10% of homes have leaks that waste 90+ gallons per day
  • The average household leaks can lost nearly 10,000 gallons of water per year
  • Nearly 30% of daily household water use goes to outdoor watering—and in hot months, it can be as high as 70%!

💦 Smart Watering Tips:

  • Use native plants in your landscape—they require less water and fertilizer!
  • Limit chemical use around your yard and dispose of them properly to avoid contaminating groundwater.
  • Water lawns and plants during the coolest parts of the day to reduce evaporation.
  • Adjust your sprinkler schedule seasonally—small changes can lead to big savings!

At BCVWD, we are committed to responsible water management and ensuring a sustainable future for all. Join us in celebrating Groundwater Awareness Week by fixing leaks, using water wisely, and spreading awareness!

Daylight Savings is here!

Daylight Saving Time has started and we now enjoy the extra daylight!

As the seasons change, it’s also a great time to refresh your water-saving habits and make small adjustments that can add up to big savings!

Check Your Sprinkler Timer: Even small changes in watering schedules can make a big difference! Adjust your timer for seasonal needs and prevent unnecessary watering.

Inspect for Leaks: A tiny drip can waste gallons over time! Check outdoor faucets, irrigation lines, and sprinklers for leaks as you prepare for spring.

Water at the Right Time: Water your plants early in the morning or late in the evening to reduce evaporation and make sure your landscape gets the most out of every drop.

Every drop counts—thank you for doing your part to use water wisely!

100 Years of Service and Counting!

For over 100 years, Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District (BCVWD) has been committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and reliable drinking water to our residents and businesses. Every time you turn on the tap, take a shower, or water your garden, you rely on an extensive system of infrastructure, dedicated professionals, and carefully managed resources to keep your water flowing.

“Behind every drop of water is a network of people, pipes, and planning to keep it all flowing smoothly,” said Board President Daniel Slawson.

To continue providing dependable service while upgrading our systems for greater efficiency and sustainability, BCVWD is proposing a rate adjustment to address rising costs, aging infrastructure, and future improvements. These adjustments help ensure:

✅ Upgraded pipelines and facilities to enhance reliability and prevent costly emergency repairs.
✅ Sustainable water management to support future generations.
✅ Continued water quality testing and treatment to meet state and federal safety standards.
✅ Investment in new technology to improve efficiency and customer service.

Water is a vital resource, and maintaining a strong, efficient water system requires long-term planning and investment. Your rates don’t just pay for water—they fund the infrastructure, maintenance, and innovation needed to keep clean, safe water flowing for all.
