Your tap water is safe and reliable

The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak will not impact your water safety or delivery. There is no evidence that coronavirus transfers through drinking water. It transfers from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District (BCVWD) remains committed to its mission of providing safe, reliable water. We follow all state and federal regulations and testing that keep your tap water safe to drink. If coronavirus was ever detected in our water, the process we use to filter and disinfect would remove the virus.

To protect the health of the community and our employees, the BCVWD offices are closed to the public. However, as an essential service, our operations remain open. Details for alternative means of service are below. Our customer service number is still available at (951) 845-9581.

“The health and safety of the community and our employees is the District’s top priority,” said Director Andy Ramirez, on behalf of the Board of Directors. “We will continue to ensure safe water is available to our customers.”

BCVWD is closely monitoring the evolving public healthsituation and will provide updates as necessary. The District reminds the community to take the following steps to limit the risk of illness:

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • Practice social distancing, keeping at least 6 feet between yourself and others.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water regularly. Alcohol hand sanitizers are also effective.
  • Try not to touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Ongoing local outbreak updates are available from the County of Riverside at www.rivcoph.org/coronavirus. Additional information is available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at www.cdc.gov/CoronaVirus/2019-ncov.
